The partnership will help close the broadband gap in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas, bringing high-speed internet to hundreds of rural communities. The agreement could bring broadband access to benefit more than 9 million people, including approximately 1 million in unserved rural areas.
Funds Will Be Used To Bring High-Speed Internet Services To America’s Rural Heartland – Texas-based Nextlink Internet today announced it has won the largest share of the FCC’s $1.98 billion rural broadband program which will bring high-speed Internet and voice services to underserved rural communities.
Employees of Nextlink conducted a food drive for Grace Bridge located in Celina, TX. Grace Bridge operates as a regional food bank serving food-insecure individuals, families, and households in Collin and Denton counties, along with portions of five other counties of North Texas, via biweekly food distributions and community cookouts.
After raising funds through an employee team competition, Nextlink presented a $2,800 check the Backpack Buddies for Erath County Program. This non-profit organization provides children from food-insecure homes with healthy weekend meals during the school year.
Nextlink was proud to sponsor a high school robotics team in Hudson Oaks, the FTC team 9886 MESH, for a local robotics competition.
McLennan County Pack of Hope supplies participating school districts and their eligible students with backpacks of food when the children are not in school. They have given out more than 250,000 packs since their inception and everything is done through donations.
Nextlink Staff donated household supplies along with $200 check to Freedom House of Parker County. This organization helps survivors of domestic and/or sexual abuse in emergency situations and assists them in transitioning to a safer environment.

The Erath County Humane Society offers shelter to the homeless and unwanted animals in the area. Not only do they care for the homeless animals, but they also reunite lost pets to their owners. The shelter is non-profit and depends on the community to help continue their dedication to the welfare of animals.
