NEXTLINK AND CVA HAVE JOINED FORCES
The two will bring quality, high-speed Internet up to 100 Mbps to your communities.
Central Valley Ag and Nextlink Internet have partnered to bring quality internet services to surrounding communities.
Nextlink Internet and Central Valley Ag (CVA) is excited to announce plans to expand broadband internet access to residents and commercial business areas within a 5 to 10 mile radius of several of CVA’s locations. In collaboration with Microsoft, Land O’Lakes, Nextlink will install high-speed broadband technology to CVA facilities, improving access to broadband connectivity throughout the area. This effort to improve internet connectivity aims to directly benefit residents in these rural areas who currently lack adequate broadband service at home.
Not only is broadband becoming increasingly critical to daily life, but it also offers the agriculture community the opportunity to engage in precision agriculture, increasing yields, improving productivity, and boosting profits. There is a lack of connectivity in rural America, this effort by CVA, Nextlink, Microsoft and Land O’Lakes aims to address these gaps.
These CVA locations are live and servicing nearby communities: Oakland, Wakefield, Randolph, and Monroe.
More sites are coming soon and updates will provided here. CVA will make an effort to notify members of the respective communities in advance of when a facility’s technology will go live, with some facilities seeing go-live dates in the next 90 days.
This project is part of ongoing efforts by Land O’Lakes, Microsoft, and Nextlink to address the rural broadband gap across the United States. CVA is part of the Land O’Lakes member network, and Nextlink is a Microsoft Airband Initiative partner. Through its Airband Initiative, Microsoft aims to extend broadband access to 3 million people who reside in unserved or underserved rural areas in the United States by partnering with internet service providers and others supporting connectivity solutions. Similarly, Land O’Lakes and its cooperative network are helping bridge the digital divide with awareness and advocacy through its American Connection Project.

What type of technology is being utilized? Is it "line of sight"?
Via the LTE SM, the subscriber receives Internet and voice access (if home phone service is requested) to the Nextlink network through a Subscriber Module (SM) mounted on their premises. Each Nextlink Fixed Wireless Subscriber receives an SM, UPS, and router. The UPS is sized to provide two hours of backup time to the router and SM. Subscribers can elect to add VoIP services to their existing 4 wire hardware via an ATA (analog telephone adapter). The ATA’s power is backed up using the same battery backup system. Nextlink offers a 24-hour battery backup solution.
